appliance specific questions

Hi Team,

I know its a political question, not a right way to put forward a quesiton regarding appliance since if someone from SAP answers some question they will say that its an inclination towards a particular vendor.

The question here is that major vendors IBM and HP since both use different types of sharing mechanism its like comparing apples to oranges but in terms of metrics like speed, writing and reading speed, backups speed. and other metrics which is better gpfs  and nfs from HP.

how can guage all these performance metrics for a particular appliance?

Also if someone can direct me to a blog where we have appliance specific experiences.

I have seen issues related to gpfs as well as with HP. Not sure of the check points with reference to vendors as to what all care should be taken before a go live.

Any experiences with reference to respective appliance providers like hp, ibm , fujitsu ?
