ASN File Upload - Handling Units

SNC Gurus:

I don't see any documentation on uploading ASNs with handling units.  Handling units are a requirement for this implementation - eWM will be used to receive based on the HU number (which will be barcoded on the unit).

Is there any way to upload an ASN file with handling units to SNC?  Or do we need to steer our suppliers to the EDI 856 to get this functionality?

You are right at the moment SNC standard does not support HU information upload in SNC at the moment.

One option you can follow is to extend the FTR file for ASN and program a little logic in the ASN FTR BADI to process packing/HU information while uploading the file. Easiest would be to allow the supplier to upload the PackSpec used when packing the ASN item and call the automated packing function used on the ASN Create screen to create the HU information. Advantage would be an easy to create solution and probably compliance with the HU number range in your ERP/eWM, disadvantge the supplier has to go to the ASN screen to print the labels.,
