Hello,
The operation system is a Windows Server 2012 (R2) and the database is a SAP ASE Sybase 16.0
Some day ago I performed an importing support packages activity in my SAP Solution Manager 7.1, after that, I´m facing an error (short-dump) everytime I try to go to DBACOCKPIT transaction (SINTAX ERROR - CL_SYB_DBMS_UTILS=============CP).
I searched for a solution and I believe in fact that I found the real solution for this error... I guess the solution is described in the SAP note 2061162 (SYB: EXPLAIN Access Plan in DBACOCKPIT fails with CX_DBA_XML_ERROR).
In fact the DBLS version of my SAP system is the level 315 (of the 721_EXT_REL). So, what I done was the kernel update and I also update the DBLS version to the latest version that I see in SAP Marketplace (patch level 318). So, after I finished the replacement of all new kernel files in kernel directory (<drive>\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64) I restarted the SAP system, but in fact the same level of DBLS version is shown in SYSTEM --> STATUS option or through the SM51 transaction in release details (patch level 315 and not the the new version - 318)!
The DBLS file that I downloaded in SAP Marketplace was lib_dbsl_318-10011372.SAR as you see in the following print screens:
Can you help me please in way to figure out what is in fact the problem here... why the DBSL file is not applied by the system, I can´t understand!
Best regards,
samid raif
Hi,
regarding the "FAIL: HTTP error, HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized" error please check the value of
"service/protectedwebmethods" paramter in the profile, with which sapstartsrv starts.
Please set it to DEFAULT. When you change this parameter, sapstartsrn needs to be restarted.
Please check as well:

Hello Gabriella Kiss,
You´re right
I change the value of service/protectedwebmethods parameter in the default profile. I set it to DEFAULT. I restarted the SAP system and now I can get the output of the following command:
sapcontrol -nr 00 -function GetVersionInfo
Thank you very much for your help in this specific issue.
I will answer to Reagan Benjamin in other message!
Kind regards,
samid raif
sapcontrol -nr 00 -function GetVersionInfo
Run the above command as <SID>adm and provide the output.
You need to replace 00 with the correct system number.

What I see is that all the files are having different patch levels, some on 300, some on 329 and dbsybslib.dll on 318. Not sure whether this is the reason. I would consider putting the whole kernel set on the same patch level unless there is a genuine need to replace a certain set of files. After updating the DBSL were you able to fix the issue related to the DBACOCKPIT ?
Reagan
Hello Reagan,
The main reason for this is, when I did the download of those kernel files, I only downloaded a couple of files, the latest Kernel Part I and Part II (300), the latest disp+work package (329), the latest R3trans file (330), the latest Sybctrl file (330), the latest R3load file (315) and also the latest Database Library file (lib_dbsl) with patch level 318 (the recommended patch level in the sap note 2061162 to correct this issue/shortdump, when I try to go to DBACOCKPIT transaction).
The Kernel files that I downloaded in SAP Marketplace (721 EXT UC 64) were these:
SAR R3trans_330-10011367.SAR R3TRANS 330 Info 6471 21.10.2014
SAR dw_329-10011367.sar disp+work package 329 Info 255924 17.10.2014
SAR SAPEXE_300-10011367.SAR Kernel Part I (database independent) 300 Info 393910 30.05.2014
SAR SYBCTRL_330-10011372.SAR SYBCTRL 330 Info 2589 22.10.2014
SAR lib_dbsl_318-10011372.sar Database Library 318 Info 1678 01.08.2014
SAR R3load_315-10011372.SAR R3LOAD 315 Info 2410 09.07.2014
SAR SAPEXEDB_300-10011372.SAR Kernel Part II (database specific) 300 Info 23691 30.05.2014
After updating the DBSL were you able to fix the issue related to the DBACOCKPIT ?
As I told you, the main reason that made me create this message is exactly that! I did the kernel update, with that kernel files that I mentioned above, but even so the SAP system continues to show me the DBLS patch level 315 and not 318!... and because of that I can´t solve the issue in DBACOCKPIT transaction .
Any tips? Can you help me please?
Thank you,
samid raif
Dear Samid,
Yes. This update lib_dbsl_318-10011372.SAR one.
