BROADCASTER IS NOT WORKING

Hi all,

I need help to fix a problem that I have with SAP BI broadcaster.

When I try to publish a query via broadcaster, nothing happens (I'm using SAP BI 7.0).

I checked that is not an authorization problem.

Thanks for anything you can tell me.

Regards,

Cecilia

Hello Cecilia,

If nothing happens, maybe you don't have a BI Java Portal configured.

Check the table RSPOR_T_PORTAL

You have to find AT LEAST one entry with DEFAULT_PORTAL = X

If there is nothing there, you don't have a BI Java Portal configured for your BW system.

If that is NOT your case, please take a screenshot of the error.

(I suspect you are experiencing the issue described by Note 1921802)

Hi Edward,

I don't have entries for that table. However, I read in another thread that Portal is not mandatory. I only need to broadcast from Bex Query Designer, and in this case is not necessary Portal or Precalculation server. Please...let me know if I'm wrong.

From Bex Query Designer, when I select the option, the Bex Broadcaster does not open:

Best Regards,

Cecilia.

Hi Cecilia,

You are right, it is not mandatory. You can maintain NW BW on ABAP side only.  Then, you can still create queries, execute them, extract data from datasources and so on...

You are wrong about the Broadcaster. It runs over Portal iview.

There are many other functionalities that needs a BI Java Portal, as execute query thru BEx Query Designer, create and execute templates ,...

The following recommendation is NOT supported by SAP, but could help you in your case.

Go to RSRT and click on ABAP Web button.

Your default browser will start with the following URL:

https://<your_server>:<tcp>/sap/bw/BEx?&QUERY=

Change the url to be like this one:

https://<your_server>:<tcp>/sap/bw/BEx?&CMD=START_BROADCASTER70

If does not work, try this one:

https://<your_server>:<tcp>/sap/bw/BEx?&CMD=START_BROADCASTER

One these two should work.
