Upgrade Sap Portal netweaver CE 7.2 to 7.4

Hi

we have to upgrade our SAP Portal netweaver CE 7.2 to 7.4

I don't have experience doing upgrades,  I have some doubts and I know that I have to read a lot to understand, please could you help me with documentation, tips, links or some information that could help me to start, maybe with the general steps.

right now specifically  i have next doubts:}

What are the options to do the upgrade?
can we upgrade in the same place (server)?
is it necessary to do upgrade in other place?
we have to upgrade operative system and data base?

we have NDWI configured, do we need upgrade our NWDI?

we have our transport system configured in SOLMAN (CTS+)  we will need configure again it after the upgrade?

I know that I have a lot of doubts please if someone could help me to start with some documentation.

Alfredo, I would suggest to read the master guide for your target version, available on SAP marketplace, its very extensive and will deliver answers to your questions
