Bin fills

Dear Expert

1) when i do GR and TO bins gets fills as follow

     03-01-01

     03-02-01

     03-03-01

but as per the settings bins should get fill as follow

     03-01-01

     03-01-02

     03-01-03

sort field placement 0101 picks from where? wher is the settings? if change there sort field placement will get change?

suppose if i want to fill the storage bin as follow

03-01-01 

03-02-01

03-03-01

how should be the settings?

you need to update the sort field of placement during Storage bin creation.(if you are using LS01N then this filed appears only on change i.e. after creation you are suppose to use LS02N transaction). For Mass update you need to write the LSMW

define the sort field of placement in below order to fill the bin 03-01-01 first then 03-02-01 then 03-03-01

03-01-01    --- 1

03-02-01    --- 2

03-03-01    --- 3

bin creation is LS10

for the 001 storage type what should be the settings?

There is no additional setting required other then defining the sort field in storage bin

LS10 help you to create the bin then you need to goto  LE---WM ----Strategies---Define sort sequence and define the sequence as your your picking order

Read the standard SAP link which i shared earlier to get an idea how to set the value in Sort sequence for putaway

At what stage you are defining this, These value needs to be defined before Bin creation so that at the time of Bin creation system will pick the value automatically.if you are defining after bin creation then change will be impact only from next time when you will create another bin for the same storage type

Only seventh and eight position should have 1, 2 as shown in the example below

why 7 8 position should be 1 2?

why should not be 2 1?

  what is the meaning for 1 2?

in your bin structure, 7th & 8th position if for Level and you want to define the sort field as 01,02 then you need to define the structure as  1 & 2 in 7th and 8th position if you will reverse this e.g. below 7th position if you will put 2 and below 8th , 1 then sort field will come like 10,20

meaning of 1 & 2 is which character needs to get filed first in the sort filed

with the above bin structure03-01-01 , 03-01-02,03-01-03

e.g.   7   8

         1   2    

result will be 01, 02,03

7   8

2   1

result will be 10, 20,30

let us assume you have 39 bins in

     e.g. 03-01-01 to 03-01-39

based on your screenshot with 7 = 2 and 8 = 1  the sequence would be:

1) 03-01-01

2) 03-01-11

3) 03-01-21

4) 03-01-31

5) 03-01-02

6) 03-01-12

7) 03-01-22

because you sort first by the very last number.

storage bins getting pick as above for storage type 001, even though i changed the settings in definition sort field storage bin.

is it standard inbuild for storage type 001 irrespect of any changes in sort field?
