Not Able to download and open activity report from SAP Portal 7.3

Dear Experts,

I have configured activity reports in Portal and its working correctly.

But on clicking the button, I am getting the below pop-up. If at all I save it, I am not able to open it.

Please help.

Hi Jelbin,

The behavior you described is due to the fact that the file has no extension.

The reason is that it is opened on different operating systems, that support different applications.

Some don't have for example an application that supports the excel extension (XLS).

So the suffix extension was removed.

when you save it on your file system, you can decide what will be the extension.

If you just save it as TXT (simple text format) you will be able to see it with the TAB delimiter.

BTW, In different editors it can open it as a text format by default (like notepad++) with no need for extension addition

Hi Jelbin,

Unfortunately there is no such configuration to open the file with a default extension in the Portal Activity Report configuration

However you can set your environment to open with a default application you prefer, every time the file with the special extension ".DownloadableActivityReport" is trying to be opened .

(at least in windows it is possible...)
