Drill Down for Year to Quarter to month to week to day

Hi Experts,

Can any one help me how can i achieve the drill downs in xcelsius 2008 by year-> Quarter-> Month-> Week-> Day....I know how to used drill down options of charts in xcelsius,  i just wanted to know how to prepare data in excel sheet, can any one just show me a simple example , i just need an idea..

Hi,

let me know if you are going to use direct query feature which presented in SAP BO 4.x to retrieve your data from the Universe. I implemented a very good idea in one of our projects and it really works fine 🙂

Attached file is showing corrupt data. Can we do a drill down at Year-Quarter-Month easily? Please let me know about how to arrange data for this drill. Currently i am using this format in excel

Attached file is in Text format, drag and drop the txt file into dashboard to open it. I am using the version of 4.1. I cannot arrange the given values here, please attach them in a excel or notepad and change the extension as .txt.

No need to curse yourself, Check my first reply a zip file is attached, save it to your desktop. unzip the file you will be getting a .txt format file. Drag & drop that file into the already opened dashboard tool. I hope you can see the design.

Please find attached txt file , this is what i am doing to create drill down in charts for by Year -> Quarter -> Months of every quarter, but i stuck in the logic of arranging data in rows and cols...Please loot at this and let me know my mistake ...Actually i have a raw materials, for every raw material i want to plot yearly data on the chart and then by clicking on every year , data for Quarters for that year should b shown in next chart and then by clicking any quarter next chart should populate three months for that quarter and should values for every month of that quarter.. Please suggest how should i arrange data so that i am easily able to create drill down for my three charts.

Sorry for the delayed reply, please find the attached txt file to see the logic i have used couple of combo box for source and destination values, which has been sent behind the screen. Hope this satisfies.

I am not able to open this file by dragging and dropping on xcelsius, when i do this it prompts me that i m using an older version of xcelsius as this file is created using newer version of xcelsius, can you please provide .xlf file or xls file to me. I shall b very thank full to you.

Try to do the dashboard downward capability and see whether you can open the dashboard.

Meanwhile attaching you the excel file in txt format as you wish.

Doing this in excel level is a big complex when you jump from month to week and again to date. I would strongly recommend you to use any reporting tool to achieve this. Even if you have the excel data row or column based information I would suggest you to use the webi reporting tool to involve this logic.

Working on your logic, till month and to date getting a week number here is tricky. Using the pivot table you can achieve this, but dashboard doesn't supports pivot. Check the Sample File.
