how to make catalog detail page mandatory

Hi Gurus,

One of my client has the following requirement.

It is required to make catalog detail page mandatory for some type notification.So that User can either enter the detail from catalog profile for can use text field available for entering the detail (like for object parts, damage, cause, activities).But task in the catalog will not be the mandatory field.

Hi Kartik,

field selection for notification does not provide any mandatory-for-input option for an OR-link (= wheter fill fields from catalog profile or fill free text field) on 2 fields.

You could set both on mandatory for input and provide in the catalog profile one code (e.g.: "TEXT"), which is chosen when the user wants to enter free text. And vice versa you can teach the users to enter a "blank", when they choose the option to use the fields linked to catalog profile.

Not really elegant, but only way I can imagine.
