Work Center Length increase

Hi Expert,

Can we increase length of Work Center, as per SAP standard we can create only 8 digit numeric alphanumeric, we want more then 8 digit say 12 digit.

how to do increase .. work center field length.

Hi,

I totally agree with Umesh Mali.

The work center is used in lot of different tables. You can't change the lenght.

If you need to enter a code with more than 8 digits, you can use the classification system.

Hi,

You should not change field length as it will affect lots of tables. I suggest you to give work-center field in such a way that field and Description will can recognize the work-center.

First tell me why you want to increase Work center filled length ?

SAP already provide 8 Char length which sufficient, Please avoid the standard functionality changes 

Standard SAP Field Length shouldn't be changed as per your requirement since the field can be used in some Reports, and it affects the Standard SAP Functionality.

Only possibilities to change the filed increase and decrease  through Access key, for this contact to SAP or consult with your basis team

Its not good practice to change also by getting access Id.

If you need new one, just create a new field according to the requirement and make use of it.
