Property Line Number is Read Only

Hi,

I have made one Add on for Shipping Rate in Sales Order.When I make a sales order and click on a button ,Shipping Rate window will come and display the shipping rate as per SO Qty.Now if I want to edit the qty of SO the shipping Rate should change.But it is not updating in the existing line on the Shipping rate window.it is creating a separate line but not updating on the existing line.When I do the coding for this the line number field it is showing the message' Property Line Number is Read Only'.Any idea how to solve this?
