SMP 3.0 SP03 Server Installation Error

Hi Experts,

I am trying to install SMP 3.0 SP03 Server on Windows machine.

Below are the system details:

SMP Server: 3.0

Patch Level: 03

Windows OS: Windows 7 64 Bit i3-3220 @ 3.30GHz

Microsoft .Net Framework: 4.5

Microsoft Visual C++: 2005, 2008, 2010

The error which I am facing during installation is;

"Failed to create Windows service SAPSMPTestUserLogonService to try to set service LOGON permissions for smpServiceUser user account."

Please find the attached screenshot.

Prior to this error, I was getting another error "Failed to create Windows User account smpServiceUser".

And therefore I have created smpServiceUser manually on the Windows machine which has Administrator privileges.

I have also attached the installation logs. Unable to find any clue in it to resolve the issue.

I have followed the installation steps provided on Running the Installer - Installation: SAP Mobile Platform Server for Windows - SAP Library.

Please put in your valuable suggestions.

Hi Jitendra,

I went through the thread prior to posting this one and tried all possible suggestions listed out in that thread.

But one thing which I have noticed is,

1. During installation of development version some ports are updated (8082, 8083 & 8084)

2. One of these ports (8082) is already being utilized by FrameworkServices.exe on my machine

3. This is basically a Firewall service which is running and CAN NOT be stopped

4. As per Jorge Alberto Encinas Ocegueda, the installation was done without the Antivirus on the machine

I assume the root cause is the same.

Yes, even i feel the same. Since some service is already running on port 8082 and that is why it is blocking you to install SMP.

Hey Jitendra,

The installation completes after uninstalling McAffe Antivirus on the machine. As the FrameworkService running on the same port can not be stopped directly, un installation is required.

Dear Dharmaraj,

Are you running the installer as Administrator. Right click on the Installer file and try to run it as an administrator. Also please do not create the user smpServiceUser manually.

Hi Rakshit,

Yes, I am running the installer with Administrator privileges.

If I don't create the user manually, the installer throws an error - user can not be created.
