Hello SAP Experts,
We are patching an SAP portal from NW 7.31 SP 9 to NW 7.31 SP12
After the patch was applied it is no longer possible to add attachments (GOS) via portal WEBGUI iview for any standard or custom SAP transaction. As soon as 'Add Attachment' is clicked the run java pop-up comes up. After selecting 'Run' the transaction screen freezes the system, requiring a session delete on the back end. Add Attachmnets works through SAPGUI and through the webgui link but not through the WEBGUI iview on the portal.
We are on the latest JAVA version and the portal and backend systems are white listed. We searched through the SAP notes and we have an open message with SAP support as well, but no resolution.
If anyone has run into a similar issue and has a solution please, respond.
Thank you!
Viktoria Hagedorn
Hi Viktoria,
I suggest that you open a support message to SAP on the BC-FES-ITS component as lately there are many issues around this area.
Also see if the following notes can help in your case:
1991034 - ITS UpDown: security warning dialog can't be suppressed
2017287 - SAP GUI for HTML: Error message "Frontend Service methods need ITS FrameSet"
Best Regards,
Dror.

Follow up
SAP Support came back with the following notes:
2016640 - ITS/RESTGUI: "Invalid GUI input data: display - window
dimension conflict"
1995776 - ITS up/down: restgui dialogs instead of applet
execution
1972793 - SAP GUI for HTML: Start service in SAP GUI for HTML:
Screen with wrong size is displayed
2017287 - SAP GUI for HTML: Error message "Frontend Service methods
need ITS FrameSet"
The “real fix” note was 2017287, but we had tried it before
without success so we deimplemented it.
Since then, we had applied the three other notes without success. Note 2017287
was reapplied to the system and the issue cleared up.
Giving credit to Dror.
Thank you!
Hi Viktoria,
Could you please comment on the browser that you use?
You could probably test this first in Chrome or Mozilla. There are some attachment issues that you may face in IE alone.
Regards,
Vinay
