BOM Explosion in sales order

Dear expert,

I have created a configurable material H980029-23. Class 68_MONITOR_M_S is assigned to this material. Only one characteristic CR_68_MONITOR_M_S is assigned to this class. and there are two value 88000922/88000320 are assigned to this characteristic.

In material H980029-23's BOM, there are three components 2032,2033, and 98-002923. Component 2032 is linked to value 88000922 in characteristic CR_68_MONITOR_M_S, Component 2033 is linked to another value 88000320 in characteristic CR_68_MONITOR_M_S, Component 98-002923 is a configurable material.

when i create sales order, enter H980029-23 as the header item, and finish the configure for header material(for example. select value 88000320) and sub-item material 98-002923, there will four items generated in sales order:

10 H980029-23

11  2032 (linked to value 88000922, as expected)

12  2033 (linked to value 88000320, which is not expected to appear!!!!!)

13  98-002923

However, my expecting is to generate three items as bellowing, since i did not select value  88000922 in the configuration.

Could you pls give me some suggestion?

Hedy Zhang,

Have you created depedency (selection condition ) for this 2 components at BOM position , it seems there are no selection condition attached and thast why all the components from BOM are getting selected.

Please create condition like below syntex and attached it to components.

for component 1 , selection condition

$SELF.CR_68_MONITOR_M_S = '88000922'

for component 2 , selection condition

$SELF.CR_68_MONITOR_M_S = '88000320'

Your picture is not matching with your description-Please correct.

Also you might have used the structure scope field in VOV7 for your Item categories.(both main/Sub-item)
