Data slice with exit class in SAP BW IP

Hi Experts,

     I have created Data Slice with exit class. My requirement is that I can read some control table with flag value and set the LOCK for the data if flag is "X". I have inherited class CL_RSPLS_DS_EXIT_BASE and redefined IS_PROTECTED method. Can anyone provides sample code and little explanation for this method so that I can call when the flag value is "X". Thanks in advance.

I just put  e_noinput = rs_c_true  and Data slice works for save. But on executing I am getting message that Planning function executed. Does Data slice does not work for planning function? Please advice.
