Hi!

Restart is the must to bring all changes into action. So, I really doubt you can be advised of any other procedure.

Sergiy

Hello Houssem,

In my test system I can deploy a new patch of ME without any NW restart and all activities seem to work fine (without MEINT).

But, please, do not try it in live operating system as it may have consequencies not supported by SAP.

Houssem,

In addition to what Alex said, SAP Notes 1688669 and 1996682 are a good point why restart is needed.

Hello Sergiy

thank you for your answer

I can't see the note 1996682 because not released

Hello Houssem,

It is a Pilot Note, that is why it is not available.

In a nutshell: it explains the dependencies between ME and MII and why the restart can be required in case you have both applications (that is why I had mentioned 'without MEINT' in my first reply).

Houssem,

SAP Note 1996682 provides a technical explanation and workaround for the same issue that is described in SAP Note 1688669. The workaround concerns manual restart and suggests a way to replace it with automatic restart.

So the bottom line is that the restart remains to be needed.
