How can i create serial number without equipment number in production

How can i create  serial number without equipment number in transaction MFBF

When i post goods receip in transaction MFBF with serial number , the system create a entry in table EQUI.

I configurated entry in OIS2  V_T377-EQUIPFL = 01

MFBF generate serial number

Create entry in table equipments EQUI

Why ??

Hi Arturo,

There is a field 'EqReq' in t-code OIS2 > 'serial number profile' > 'serializing procedures'.

Please check if it can help in this case.

Hi Grupo,

I did more research on this issue.  Here is my finding:

The serial numbers are equipments. This is by design.

You cannot restrict the creation of  an equipment : once the serial number is created you will find a new equipment.

The flag "Without Equipment" means that the Equipment View is not active. Technically, the value of field EQUI-S_EQUI is blank but the equipment exist. You cannot display the master data but there is an entry in tables EQUI/EQUZ/ILOA...

Hi,

You cannot create Serial numbers without Equipment, in the back ground equipment number will be generating automatically when you create serial number.

Number range must be maintained for equipment.

thanks, but i use serial number for manufacture parts, and i don´t need equipment number,
