FI related Settings

Dear Experts,

We are implementing SAP-BW for one of our new Business, and we need to install all finance related data flows from BI content in SAP R3/BW. We need flow for GL_4, AP_4, AR_4 .

Q1)Need to maintain any settings in SBIW or SPRO before installing data sources in ECC/BW.

Q2) Need to follow any sequence while installing FI Data Sources or while data loading like GL-->AP-->AR OR GL-->AR-->AP OR AP-->AR-->GL.

Currently We are in BW 7.0 EHP2 ECC6.0

Hi,

Before you starting bw work, please check with your functional team.

Whether they maintained required master data about Calyear/posting periods/units and currencies.

if yes then you can transfer them into bw by using transfer global settings at Bw, RSA1-->source system-->select your connected source system-->transfer global settings.

You need to update units/currencies/fiscalvaraints.

As BW consultant there no setting are exist to do it if above actions are done by functional.

You can start activating data source and design required data flow.

Even functional team need to activated FI AR/GL/AP related business functions at SFW5.

Later you can use data sources.

Hi

you should be careful in installing the  FI business content - in particular avoid to overwrite existing objects

Check the SDN for the business content install procedures 

some FI data sources can be in the 3x version . So you can migrate to 7x and replicate them from your source system to BW

Why GL_4 ?

We use GL_10 and GL_14 and TT and S1 for paralell leder.

@Ramu: Recently We made some settings in SBIW to load Inventory Data for first time. (Determine Industry Sector). There is any similar kind of settings need to be done in FI?

Is there any sequence needs to be follow while installing/loading datasource in ECC or BW?

@Leslaw: Your correct, but we are in ECC 6.0 version and there is no EHP Packs, GL_14 is available from EHP3.

Inventory is MM specific and its mandatory to maintain those settings SBIW.

Incase of FI there is no such settings.

Most of the required basic settings might be taken care by FI functional.

Seems like no sequence as i know, you can load as you need.
