Excise duty for incoming & outgoing matrerials

Hi SD consultants,

As you all know that the central government has changed the excise duty % to 10.3% for outgoing materials, whereas it remains the same (12.36%) for incoming materials

When the same material code is used for both the incoming & outgoing materials the chapter id maintenance becomes a tedious process which also leads to lot of confusions & invoice reversals

Request you all to suggest on how to overcome the issue without changing the chapter id of the material

Regards

Shankar

Ideally, the material code should not be unique for incoming and outgoing material.  It should have been different.

Hi,

It is manufacturing or depot plant? you are using same material code for purchase as well as sale and in case of depot plant you need to pass the taxes as it when you purchase the goods and how the  excise duty will be diffrent even for you if it incoming material but for the vendor from where you are purchasing it it will be a  outgoing material so the exicse duty should be same.
