Dear Experts,
We are getting the error as " Employee PF contribution exceeds employee's salary" while running payroll for an employee who has resigned.
The employee has VPF contribution and it is maintained in IT0587.
Kindly let us know how to resolve this issue.
Have a nice day.
Regards,
Sriram
Hi Sriram,
Also in order to avoid the error you can click on the radio button Eligible Pay or PF Basis which ever is less , then the warning message will not come. but if you select then the PF deducted will be 780 RS only.
Thanks & Regards

HI Sriram,
I think the error which you are getting in the Function INEPF is a warning message, but if you check RT table the amount would have been processed for Statutory deduction and aslo for Income Tax Exemption.
if you want to avaoid this warning message then instaed of giving the whole amount in the VPF field give monthly amount so in that case may the warning message will not be coming.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Sriram,
Kindly confirm is that a warning message or error? If its a warning msg then there is no issue you can proceed further, warning msg is displayed because you must have selected (eligibile pay or whichever is less) in infotype 0587.

Dear Sriram,
Either you have to recover the amount from the employee or ask the employee and remove(Delimit) the VPF from IT0587 and reprocess the salary.
I think you have put the fixed amount in VPF (not the %)
