Two availability checks required for one material

Hi

One FG is using one more FG as BOM component in a multilevel BOM. I am trying to configure an avalilability check for second FG material without considering planned orders into mrp so that using lead time scheduling only second FG production orders are considered for making top level FG.

But the problem is when we plan second FG individually, the planned orders are not considered.

Please let me know how one materials can have two avialability checks depending on the planning scenario

Regards

Krishna

Krishna,

I am trying to configure an availability check for second FG material without considering planned orders into mrp so that using lead time scheduling only second FG production orders are considered for making top level FG.

Availability check will not directly influence MRP processing.  MRP processing only uses Net Requirements calculation (not availability check) to determine which objects will be considered for MRP processing.  Availability checking only has an impact on execution, not on planning.

SAP ECC gives you very little control over which objects will be considered as supply elements during planning (MRP).  See OMI1 and OPPI.  There is no provision to include/exclude planned orders except via enhancement.

Now, if you really only want for two FGs materials to have two different availability checks, you can create a new availability checking group, configure the ATP, and then enter a different availability checking group in each of the Material Masters.

Hi DB49

Let me explain detail. I have two FG. Both the FG are salable products. But one FG has another FG as component.

When I want to manufacture first FG, the availability check should check only the production orders already created for second FG so that lead time can be calculated. This is achieved by creating two different availability checks Z1 for First FG and Z4 for Second FG (with No check for planned orders).

Now my problem is that when I want to plan second FG independently, the planned orders will not be considered during availability check when this second FG is planned independently.

Hence there is a requirement for two availability checks for second FG material so that if the second FG is planned it should consider planned orders during availability check. Hope now scenario is clear.

Please help

Availability checking settings in OPJJ are irrelevant to planning (MD01/MD02/MD03).  For MRP, planned orders are ALWAYS considered.  Assuming you have active BOMs, Dependent Requirements (exploded demand from Planned orders) are ALWAYS considered.

Please show me a screenshot (MD05 or MD04) which displays the issue you are having problems with.

Hi,

In standard not possible, but write a program in production order of header FERT material saying not to consider planned orders.Second FERT assign normal checking rule which considers planned orders.

so while raising production order for second FERT it will consider the planned orders and while raising production order for First FERT program will control the avilability check of sceond FERT which is assigned in FIRST FERT production order.

There are user exits available during Production order creation and release check in the forum
