Hi Experts,
I have a doubt with regards to converting project definition to WBS Element.
I will explain my question with the help of an example.
HDFC Bank is the customer. It has created 8 projects (existing projects) for the diffrent branches of the city. For each branch one project.
AB Road branch Project id ICICI/1
bc Road branch Project Id ICICI/2
jc Road branch Project Id ICICI/3
JP Road branch Project Id ICICI/4
JN Road branch Project Id ICICI/5
KP Road branch Project Id ICICI/6
MN Road branch Project Id ICICI/7
ky Road branch Project Id ICICI/8
All the branches are located in Chennai City.
Now Customer wants to create only one project Called Chennai (New Project) and all the above mentioned projects needs to be shown as diffrent levels of WBS Elements.
Postings are done and happening on a daily basis.
Is there option to complete this requirement
Regards,
Wasim
Hi Wasim,
With respect to your requirement.
1. You need to create Single Project as HDFC and Different Branches has WBS element, here you can attach network to each WBS element, so the cost can be calculated individually.
2. You need develop HDFC Branches has your WBS elements and attach networks to it. Here you will be creating multiple projects.
The design is based on the role who is going to use SAP PS.
If i am a customer who is gng to do projects for HDFC, i prefer first option, since i can individually calculate the cost based on branch location using WBS element.

Terence

Hi Wasim,
There is no provision of converting project definitions to WBS elements. I think , the available options are as follows:
1. Create one project with name Chennai and those available branches will a WBS elements.
2. Create each branch as a separate project.
3. As suggested by paulo, just group WBS elements from different project using subproject field.
I could not go beyond this advice. Let other experts also comment on this.

Hi Wasim,
It is not possible to convert project definitions into WBS-elements. You will need to create a new project with a proper WBS structure.
Alternatively you can group WBS-elements from different projects using subproject field for reporting, and that you can interpret as "super project".
Cheers,
