Hi there,
my name is Leo, i'm application architect from Indonesia.
I have a project for upgrading Crystal Report from 10.5 to 13 . But i'm facing a little problem.
my application in user device still use IE 8 , when i was trying preview the report using CR 13 in IE 8, font changed bigger but when i use IE 11, my report preview is running well.
i have a picture for this case ..
using CR 13 in IE 8.
i tried to see html code that is generated from CR 8 and CR 13 .. there is any different syntax. but my concern is the font size. why the font size is bigger in CR 13 ? i use fontsize 8pt in CR design , but when i preview the report, it changed to 9pt .
is there anyone who have experienced with this case ?
thank you very much for helping ..
best regards,
Leo
Hi,
This issue may depend on printer driver and not easily reproducible from computer to computer. See if enabling the "No Printer" option and enabling the "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size" option will help.
Right click on the report -> Page Setup
And also update latest Service Pack i.e i think SP8
Thanks,
DJ

Hi DJ and Ludek,
your workaround is running well in my environment. but we have 500 reports (500 rpt's file) .. could you give me suggestion, how to change the property in page setup in one way ? or i have to change those files one by one ?
thank you,
best regards,

You will have to use the InProc RAS SDK to set those options at runtime.
For the "No Printer" option see:
For Dissasociate, see the RAS API Help file for
newPrintOptions.DissociatePageSizeAndPrinterPaperSize = False
RAS SDK Help files:

Hi Ludek,
thank you for your suggestion for changing via code. we will be trying that ..
but , now my team is facing new problem ..
after i enabling the "No Printer" option and enabling the "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size" option , my report viewer display is better than before. but when i click 'print' button, report couldn't be printed.
i have tried to disabling "No Printer" Option and Dissociate Formating Page Size and Printer Paper Size" Option, my report could be printed normally ..
is there any aspect that i have to check ?
thank you
best regards,
Leo
Hi Leo
When you say "but when i click 'print' button, report couldn't be printed. ", do you mean that you get an error saying "the report couldn't be printed"?
See if exposing the printer drivers to the process will help. Please see this MS KBA on how to:

Hi Ludek,
there is no error alert when the report will be printed . we just waiting until 5 minutes but the report still didn't printed.
are you sure this is related with printer driver ? because before we enabled "No Printer" Option and "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size " option, the report printed normally ..
thank you

Well, the printer driver is used to not only print the report, bu to actually render the whole report...
When you hit the print button, do you see the print job in the printer queue?
Are you using ActiveX or PDF print mode?
Have you looked at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/184291/en-us ?
