Hello experts,

I am confused about the connection from client (SAP Application server) to HANA distributed environment (for example, we have a distributed environment with one master, two worker and one standby)

Q1: SAP AP always connect to the master node?

Q2: Do I  need a virtual IP or other configurations?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Tong Ning

A1: Nope, the application server processes can also connect to the other nodes. This has to be configured in the hdbuserstore configuration. See the documentation for details.

A2: Nope again. The SAP HANA hosts each have their own IP address towards the application server.

Hello Lars,

Firstly, thanks for your quick response.

To be frank, I do not have enough experience about HANA scale-out configuration (mostly done by the hardware partner).

So during BW on HANA scale-out installation, which hostname should I input (you know I have to choose one: the master, slave or standby )?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Tong Ning

Ok, before I just answer: did you check the documentation?

Hello Lars,

It's my fault, I will spend time and check detailed in hdbuserstore. Thanks for your kindly suggestion.
