Hi folks,

I need to reset the db2<sid> password.

Should I run any extra steps after resetting it in OS level side?

Thanks in advance,

Ma

Hi Marilia,

As far as I know no post processing is required after changing db2<sid> user password.

other than DBACOCKPIT connection test.

As db2<sid> is not used during any processing/transaction/communication with database from SAP.

For other users like sap<sid> and schema users please check on the below link

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f03d5fb8-b619-2b10-c383-c6d568728...

Also in window services run under SAPService<SID> user.

Hope this information solves your query.

Regards,

Prithviraj.

Hi Marilia,

the DBACOCKPIT transaction sometimes uses the db2sid user as monitoring user.

After you have changed the db2sid password, go to transaction

DBACOCKPIT -> DB Connections

in your local system and change the password for the "+++DB6ADM" connection if the db2sid user is used there. The db2sid user may also be used for remote connections for example in a solution manager system.
