Dear Sybase Gurus,

Our Sybase IQ stop at midnight , i found some logs.

Server : Windows Server 2008 R2

Sybase IQ 16.0

Hi Kemal,

From the error "another process may be using the .db file", it looks like an IQ process is still up and using that db file.

Check if iqsrv16 propcess is still there.

You can also use console command below to see current running IQ databases.

dblocate -d

The second errorlog is interesting!  It tells the database is started but still under recovery stage. Once recovery compete you should have message like "server now accepting requests".

You need look at previous logs:  srvlog and stderr in logfiles directory and .iqmsg file in same .db directory to see what was logged before the server failure.

This confirms that IQ database crashed (IQ Abort) when user ETLTR called procedure "TRDW"."SP_TR_BOS_INSERT".

This needs investigation. It could be issue fixed in upper IQ SP (latest is SP08 PL20)  or a corruption in table used by that procedure.

Please attach the entire stacktrace (20 lines or more after *** This is STACKTRACE ***).

Hi Kemal,

I recommend check database allocation consistency and check tables used in the called stored procedure :

sp_iqcheckdb 'allocation database';

sp_iqcheckdb 'check table <table_name> '; /* for each table used in the procedure */

If all is clean (No errors detected), then you would need upgrade IQ to recent service pack. SP04 or SP08. Your SP level SP01 is quite old.

It is recommanded to install SP08 PL, the latest release patch.

The log show's that recovery completed, just do the full restart and then check the DB & SAP startup

Recovery is working in midnight, unfourtunelly i can not restart the server now. Do you think a "restarting server" fix this issue ?
