I've just started to investigate ITC tables in 10.5.  I see some blogs that mention certain table candidates, but my question is:  how do I idenfity possible good ITC candidates?

Thanks in advance

Hello Anke,

Db6CONV should help you to find ITC candidates.

More details could be found in below documents
1. Insert Time Clustering Tables in DB2 LUW 10.5: ... | SCN  (page 4)
2. http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-32875  (Page 10)

Kind regards
Maria

Hi

Just for your information ITC is unfortunataly very buggy. We recently converted quite huge BALDAT and BALHDR tables in one system on 10.1FP2 and had several db crash. The only solution (beside removing ITC) was to  reduce number of entries from 40 GB to less than 5 GB deleting old logs.

We had 2 PMR opened for this issue but so far no solution for it. So beware using ITC on big tables.

Regards

Marcin

Hi Marcin,

I assume you reported this problem to SAP and IBM?  are there known APARS?  what was the issue?  I'm dealing with large tables as well, but am just now trying to get my feet wet in ITC.
