wierd issue with URL IView

Hi All,

I am facing a weird behaviour while using URL IViews in my portal. We have 2 SAP portals in our client landscape 1 for ESS / MSS and the other for accessing EC (Environment Compliance) content. Both portal versions are on 7.4

The requirement from the client was to add a link in the ESS portal which points to the EC portal. This allows the users to directly login to the EC portal.

I have performed the below steps for achieving the functionality:

  1. Exported the certificate (Binary X.509 format) from the ESS portal.
  2. Imported the certificate in the EC portal in NWA.
  3. Created a URL iview with the EC portal link maintained.
  4. Added the URL iview to a role which is assigned to the users.

The SSO is successful and when I preview the URL IView, the trace shows the redirection to the EC portal and then directly logs into the EC portal and displays the required TLN and DTN's perfectly. But when the same iview is accessed from the portal, the URL displayed in the browser is not the EC portal instead the ESS portal link with some additional parameters.

I have provided with the URL's generated below for both scenarios. Kindly suggest if there is any setting which I have missed out?

URL generated when iview is previewed:

http://<ecportalhostname>:50000/irj/portal

URL generated when iview is accessed from role:

http://<essportalhostname>:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl%3A%2F%2F3d4aa05de52edfaebf189716...

Hi Poojith,

I would suggest to setup Federated Portal to access the EC portal roles in ess portal.

Below link will give you an idea on how to setup federated portal network.

Hope this helps.

Hi Pramod,

Thanks for the suggestion. But I would need to proceed the way which I mentioned in my initial reply using URL IView.

Do let me know if there are any specific settings to be done?

Thanks,

In our system we have Kerberos Authentication enabled. Which allows to do SSO with Network ID and password to Portal. And also in Internet Options - Advanced - Under Security Section - Enable Integrated Windows Authentication This will do a SSO to the URL iView. That's what we are doing for BOBJ Dashboard URL iView. Hope this helps. Cheers- Pramod
