Hi Gurus,
Would you please provide me in detail the functionality of the table EST_CHANGE_DOCS.
What is the purpose of this table & what is the exact relation this table has with regard to the option - 'Evaluate change pointers' that is available on the screen of DGE5 transaction. When this option is checked how is this table impacted & for what reason as compared to the option being unchecked.
Thanks in advance for your help with this!
Regards
Dear Anshul
EST_CHANGES_DOCS is related to the "change documents" in CG02 or CG02BD. The topic of change documents in EHS might need a "book" to write the details. May be check as an idee:
According to my knowledge: there is no link of this table to DG filling process.
might be helpful as well to learn about "Change documents"
Coming back to your question:
context of "'Evaluate change pointers' in relation to transaction DGe5
a.) a "change document" is different to a "change pointer". Don't mix
b.) DG filling is triggered by "change pointers". Luckily: EHS do the job for you (based on proper set up)
Regarding change pointer: e.g. check:
Change Pointer (Master Data Distribution) - IDoc Interface/ALE - SAP Library
What is Change pointer in SAP ? | SAP Ignite
or similar stuff.
Change documents: Check e.g. Logging Using Change Documents - Auditing and Logging - SAP Library
or similar stuff.
More special and related may be to your question:
Note 576905 - Change pointer status after GG master delta filling - Sap NOTE Sap-ConsAlt.Ru
Note 709878 - DG filling: Change pointer could not be generated - Sap NOTE Sap-ConsAlt.Ru
DG filling: Change pointer could not be generated
DG topics are not discussed often on this level here.
is of interest
