Hi Saurabh,

Try to replace/copy saplpd file of gui version 740 with the old one i.e from gui release 731 at OS level and try again.

I can confirm that this will work. I guess the problem is that SAPLPD is discontinued, if it's convenient for you you can switch 'Koppelart' (I forgot the english term ) from F to G.

Hi Saurabh

You can raise the support indent to SAP. I think this may be a new bug in SAPGUI 7.40.

You need a PC where 730 is still installed, just navigate to %programfiles(x86)%\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\ and copy the SAPlpd folder to your 740 installation.

Hi Daniel,

It's already existing with in the destined location in my current PC (with 740) GUI). Only difference is 730 is having SAPlpd.exe file with space 1646 KB and 740 with 1948 KB.

Is there a need to copy?

Hi Saurabh,

As i replied earlier, you need to replace SAPlpd.exe of SAP GUI 740 with previous version of gui 730,and check again for the printing.

Hi Gaurav.

Thanks .. it worked.

Just want to ask, is there any negative impact to replacing SAPlpd file with old one?

sorry, but this answer can't be correct.

If saplpd 7.40 is firing an Access Violation (exception number 0xc0000005), then there is a bug in the 7.40 which needs to be reported - otherwise no one will probably correct it.

Using 7.30 instead can only be  a workaround.

And even in this situation I would prefer to use official uninstall/install tools instead of manually copy files to the folders.

Manual copy operation may corrupt your installation and the installation tools may not be able to handle this correctly.

regards

Peter

It's probably a rhetorical question but I'll ask anyway...

If SAP is no longer supporting SAPLPD then why are they distributing an updated version...?

The version information for the executable is clearly 7.40, ask you can see in the event log entry from my failure (below) ...

Faulting application name: SAPlpd.exe, version: 7400.1.0.32, time stamp: 0x541f5aa6

Faulting module name: mfc110.dll, version: 11.0.60610.1, time stamp: 0x51b50f06

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x000544eb

Faulting process id: 0x1a74

Faulting application start time: 0x01d03ccb8aa04fa3

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\SAPlpd\SAPlpd.exe

Faulting module path: C:\windows\SYSTEM32\mfc110.dll

Report Id: db0a8e62-a8be-11e4-befc-c0ddb927f9e8

Faulting package full name:

Faulting package-relative application ID:

Note that the failure point is in the SAP Supplied, Microsoft-authored "mfc110.dll" module.

I applaud the resourcefulness of this group, and hacking a piece of the 7.30 distro onto the 7.40 install will most likely work but that's not a long-term solution.

Has anyone gotten a response from SAP on this error?

hi,

Exception code: 0xc0000005

is the result of a programming bug and can't be fixed using this forum's help.

If you are not already running the most current saplpd, try the most current one.

If you are already using the most current one please file a new incident at support.sap.com.

Please check Windows Event Log for relevant messages and if exists attach event details here.

I checked the Event Log, SAPlpd 740 isn't working at all - the only solution is to use the old SAPlpd 730.

Hi,

As fas as I know SAPLPD is obselete and thus not supported by SAP since long time.

You need to you sapsprint or xsprint instead.

Please read the below notes on this.
