DB backup into TSM

Dear Experts,

Recently we have started taking backup using Tivoli , Now we wanted to schedule the backup using db13 but in the screen we are not sure what to be filled in option column , pLease help so that we can proceed with backup using db13 into tsm

Hi

As far as I know this error is TSM specific,

Pls work along with TSM server admin.

They will give u more error details capturing it from tsm logs..

I have a different approach to this...

Can you do a backup from OS level?.... if yes them your command should be something like this.

db2 "backup db <DBSID> online load <library_path> compress include logs"

So whats missing on DB13?, you have options for online, compress and include logs. so the only thing missing is the library or path.

Include the library or path under options and execute.

Dear Sadiq,

'you are right , My query in this is what we need to put in the option field , i have tried different thing and i tried without filling also not no help ,

What i need to put in options field while scheduling via db13.

No need to add anything in the options fields . These are only used only when you have custom scripts

Hi Rableen

First of all please make sure DB backup device configuration is completed successfully in your system. Then after you have make sure the following parameters are set in order to setup archive logging. You should take full offline backup after setup archive logging.

LOGARCHMETH1= <TSM device path for log archiving>

FAILARCHPATH = </db2/<DBSID>/log_archive>

NEWLOGPATH = /db2/<DBSID>/log_dir

You will be able to see DB config parameter values with command db2 get db cfg for <DBSID>.

My query is simple , These all things are already known...My query is while schedule backup online from db13 what i have to write in the options column .

Hi Rableen,

I am checking in my test systems and I don't see the need to specify anything in the option field.

By the way,  I don't know what's your Basis release but if you have WebDynpro configure please use

Job->DBA planning calendar    option in WebDynpro.
