EPMLocalMember is giving me #NAME? in EPM Addin for excel

I have a specific group of users (2-3 users) that are facing the #NAME issue.

Whenever the user opens the report / form from the server, the formula that should be EPMLocalMember is replaced with FPMXLClient.TechnicalCategory.EPMLocalMember

As soon as he refreshes the reports / forms from the server, the description is replaced with #Name.

Tried the following

* Uninstalled / Re-installed EPM Add-In

* Not Security Issue - As anyone who uses this laptop faces same problem and this user does see this problem when using other system.

Any information would be helpful.

Cheers!

The solution that was decided was to incorporate EPMMEMBERID() to ensure that the EPM function is able to correctly interpret the member id.

I also tried to hard-code the connection name but it did not help.

Cheers!

Hi Ranjeet,

I have faced this issue before and were able to resolve it by just closing MS excel at all, not even a single process should left open. It's occurring because EPM is not able to recognize the connection.

Try with closing excel at all and please let me know if it resolve yours issue also.

Hi Meenu,

I have tried everything from closing the excel, disabling EPM add-in, enabling EPM add-in, uninstalling EPM add-in.

Thank you for your post.

Cheers!

Hi Ranjeet,

Try this

1)Clear temp file

2) Clear meta data cache

3) Refresh Metadata for current connection
