Hello friends,

We have upgraded SAP ECC server RAM to 64 from 32 . What would be recommended swap size for windows 2012 standard.

What are parameters I have to change to get better performance.

Regards

Dear Sahil,

Gaurav's suggestions are remarkable and links he has provided are appropriate.

Just to add some more

  • If your ECC is on EHP6 and above then zero memory administration template is pre-installed.

You don't have to set more parameters for regular operation.

You can refer to Note 88416 - Zero administration memory management for the ABAP server for more           information.

          and .

  • In case you have some specific requirements for some heavy reports then heap memory and buffer values can be increased as per results in ST02,ST04 and ST06.

Hi

Please check the "Virtual Memory and Page File Size Required by SAP System Components" document

Approx. 500 MB + 1 to 2 times PHYS_MEMSIZE + 2.5 GB + 250 MB per work process

Hi SK,

As per standards page file size should be set 1.5 times of the total RAM for Windows Server. But as we're using SAP on Windows so it would be best to have page file 3 times of the total RAM.

Also follow KBA's  1518419 - Page file and virtual memory required by the SAP system

1431798 - Oracle 11.2.0: Database Parameter Settings

and SAP doc at http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/300cc754-45a0-3010-79b9-f7a5395a2...

Hope this will help you.

Regards,

Gaurav
