Copying an environment between servers

I am looking for instructions on copying my production environment to my Development server as an archive environment. Is there a way to use the BPC Administrator to do this or is using the backup/restore process in the BPC server manager (which by the way has issues with backing up the SQL data within the BPC process. a SQL backup from SSMS is necessary) the required process.

Hi Bill,

we've had the same problem and resolved it with backup/restore process.

I dont know what issues with the sql data you have, maybe you can explain more.

There are ways to generate a BPC "restorable" backup with a batch script that can be scheduled in your system and it does not need server manager in any way.

You can tack backup from PRD and restore it in DEV using SSMS.
