Hello,

I am a new to SAP visual enterprise.

I want to make 3D PDF's of CATIA assemblies.

The File menu has Export option.

But is it possible to run  convert 3d files from command line without manual interaction?

Thanks,

Venkat

Hi Venkat,

What SAP 3D Visual Enterprise product are you using? and what is your workflow?

For example: if you are using SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author 8.0, you use menu File -> Publish after you have imported the CATIA Assembly into Author etc.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.  We are using SAP Visual enterprise Author 7.1 .

We wanted to do same thing in batch mode without opening the application. What is the protocol or API we should use (Programmatically using C++ etc..) ?

Hi Venkat,

This is not possible with SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author client product. However it is possible to perform large scale conversions in batch using the server product SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Generator. For more information, please go to http://help.sap.com/ve-generator to review its capabilities.

Hi;

Anyway you will find in the menu File -> Batch operation 3 sub menu including "Convert 3D files". With This one you might be able to convert rh or rhz files to some other formats.

The problem is that you need to first generate your rh files so we are back to your initial issue.

Hope this helps
