Planned order not created via MD51 but created via MD02

Hi guys.

I am an ABAPer trying to learn functional.

For a material, planned order is created via MD02 but not via MD51.

The material reservation is available in network (CN23).

What are the possible reasons for this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Prabhu,

Reservations are generated out of Production/ Process Order for any header Material.

This order reservation is created for header material for which Production/Process order exists.

Hello Arun,

Please check the Planning file entry exist for this material in MD21.

If it is not there then create it through MD20 and then take a MRP run through MD51.

MD02 does not require Planning file entry.

You can run MDAB to setup the planning file entries & MDRE to ensure consistency.

Also in project builder check the proc. type its should not never.

For more details please refer OSS note

205681 - MRP: Planning file entry for material requirements planning

Hello Rupesh.

I checked MD21 for this material.

There is another material in the same network for which planned order created via MD51.

As far I know, these entries are not added manually by the end-users.

Based on what condition, the above situation occurs.

Regards.

Hello Arun,

You can run MDAB to setup the planning file entries for plant and MDRE to ensure consistency.

These can be many reasons behind it also it could be inconstancy.

The planning file entry of the material has not been created, this can be checked in transaction code MD21. Normally, the planning file entry should be  created automatically when the material master is created if the MRP type of that material is MRP related (It is not MRP type ND.) and MRP is activated for the plant, but there are some exceptions as following.

As note 327735 describes, if materials are created by direct input program RMDATIND and the field 'Update planning file entries' is not selected in the intial screen of that program, the planning file entries of the materials are not created. Program RMDATIND can be called in transaction code LSMW or directly by users.

As note 97405 describes, it may happen if the materials has been existing before MRP was activated for the plant.

Thanks a lot Rupesh.

What do you mean by MRP activation for a plant?

Hello

The planning file should not be relevant if you are planning your material on MD51.

Please make sure that the following notes are implemented on your system:

1987865MD51 : Very strict planning of grouped requirements when the flag WBS 'with hei
1844043MRP run does not create planned orders against group for CIR
