BRrestore SAP failed

Dear Expert,

I'm upgrading patches SAP BPC 10 using SPAM. The new patches is SAPKW73112 . I'm updating from frontend, unfortunately due to connection lost the update failed, when I try to logon to SAP again it get message

"Syntax Error SAPLTHFB' .

I google it and notice it was kernel error. And then I decided to restore previous oracle db backup using brrestore.  It looks like BRrestore completed but with warning. After that SAP instance cannot start. disp+work process lit yellow. I check with :

sqlplus / as sysdba .

I run statement :

alter database open.

It looks like database failed to open with following error :

ORA-01113 : file 1 need media recovery

ORA-01110 :  data file 1: 'E:\ORACLE\PCQ\SAPDATA1\SYSTEM_1\SYSTEM.DATA1'

How do I restore db and make SAP BPC run again? It's still tolarable if the data is not the latest  state.

Any answer regarding troubleshoot will be appreciated.

Thank You

Hi,

Please use following command to restore from full offline backup

brrestore -c force -m full -b <backup log file name>

make sure database is down before issue the command.

Thank You Kamil for your response ,

I read the document. I still wondering. when I perform full offline backup, did it also archiving redo log?

I know that I should doing redo backup to get database restore correctly, but fortunately I'm only doing full offline backup.

When I try to restore, can I just use current redo log ?

Sorry, if i am asking basic question. still learn sap basis anyway.

Best Regards
