When users install a new version of Analysis for Office(AFO) they have a problem with the regular excel opening. It does not matter which version of AFO it has happened on all installs. The last version we just install was 1.4.10.3290
I was given these instructions on how to fix the problem.
User should navigate to C:\users\GID\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel and delete the Excel14.xlb file.
My questions are:
Why does this happen?
What can be done to prevent this?
Patty,
XLB is a settings file format created by Microsoft Excel. XLB files contain:
* settings for the toolbars (or command bars). These settings can be edited or customized by selecting “toolbar” from the view options.
* information such as which toolbars are visible, their position, and their function.
* allow for the transfer of customization information between computers and users.
It sometimes gets corrupt and the only solution is to delete it.
By now we don't have a way to prevent it as it is a specific case.
Thanks
Diego
