Sales and Inventory impact on batch reservations

Hi All,

            I am looking for a solution for a below scenario which my company is trying to implement .

  we will be selling multiple lots of a particular product to a customer as sample and reserve almost 1000 of each of these lots, The customer will  do the necessary testing at their end with in 2 weeks and based on their results will pick the lot of their choice which we need to honor. Now the issue is , say if we are sending 3 lots to them for testing , we are reserving the inventory for all the 3 lots without knowing which one of these is going to be picked and this also restricts our ability to ship any of these batches with in the 2 weeks if some one else orders it..

Secondly we are going to increase our inventory by manufacturing 1000 pieces for each of these 3 lots , where as the actual consumption is going to be only for 1000 based on  the selected lot.

In the above scenario , if we create a sales order to reserve ( 3000 quantities) we are  giving a false sales forecasting by committing numbers.  How do we address this situation without any implications.
