How do you follow someone?

I've been an SCN member for years but I'm still not Following anyone.

Today I tried and couldn't see an easy way (or any way) to do it. So I did a search and came up with this,

from Getting Started with SCN:

I followed the example given for the person named and I still can't see a Follow button. I also can't follow any spaces.

Is it just me? Or does that Document need updating? Or is it another "known" bug?

thanks!

Rick

I think it is just you - I got my 1402 follower today

It still works like the document shows.

Can you make a screenshot how these screens appear to you.

Maybe you were no logged in at that moment.

by the way I just clicked that button and you should be able to do the same from the notification

Hi Jürgen,

Thanks! I don't have the Follow button:

Same when I hover. I see the same as you but no Follow or Direct Message button.

I'll try on a different browser than Chrome.

regards

Rick

Yep, that's what it was - worked in Firefox but not in Chrome.

It's just me.

Works for me in Chrome too...weird. You might want to re-install Chrome: I know it's supposed to update automatically and all but I recently did and found more than a few new features were added.

Rick, you probably have some ad blocking plugin installed in Chrome (like AdBlock or alike). If you pause it or add scn to white list, then you'll see 'Follow' button where it is Hope this helps.

Denis, that's exactly right! I have AdBlock Plus. Can't live without it I'll give that a try.

Thank you.

Leave the Antisocial filter list (removes social media buttons) option under Other Filter Lists unchecked.

Even better would be to just uncheck j-social-button filter in Fanboy's Social Blocking list.

See this related discussion.

It is about j-social-actions preventing people from like/bookmark.

The list maintainers did fix the j-social-actions filter.

I'll send an email to them to add sap.com as exception for j-social-button too.

An update to all.

The filter list have been updated on server side by list maintainers. You can manually update Fanboy's Social Blocking list to see the Follow button.
