While Performing Restore Activity using Tape Drive...

Dear All,

We have initiated the tape using Force option (Brtools) and now we are trying to restore the backup from the tape to a test server. It is giving the below error.

I am attach with BRTOOLS error message please check and give me your support for me

Hi Saravanan,

sapreorg directory is used to store/contains brtools related activities log like extend of table space,reorganization,drop and so on.

Here i suppose this directory has already been filled to maximum,try to clear junks from here and retry the process again.

Also follow BRCONNECT Detail Log - SAP Database Guide: Oracle - SAP Library

and use brconnect -u / -c -f cleanup

I have one doubt. the actual backup data available in tape drive.

Why required for the sapreorg space please can you tell me i am not clear.

Actually i saw that message, but why sapreorg space is required

While performing restore activity from tape to populate the date to sapdata1, sapdata2.. etc.,

I am focus on that area also but what is that reason Gaurav...

Dear All,

I am facing problem while restore with Tape drive.

OS : AIX 6.1

Database : Oracle 10g

Tape drive is connected but restoring at that time it shows error message "can't read device"

Any additional information or any parameter is required please give me suggestion.

Can you give me the clear restore steps for the above area. It is very helpful for me
