distributed SAP servers using same license

Dear all,
we have a customer with 2 servers: one in Switzerland and 1 in Dubai.

Actually the 2 server are not connected via VPN tunneling.

Actually the server in Switzerland has SAP Server and SAP License Server installed.

Is it possible also to install SAP Server on the server of Dubai but using the same license server sited in Switzerland?

If it’s possible, should we create a VPN connection from the 2 servers?

In this way, can SAP Server of Dubai use the license server sited on the Switzerland server?

Best regards

   Emanuele

Dear all,

sorry, probably, there is a misunderstandig...

There's only one license file and one license server, in Switzerland.
The DUBAI SAP B1 server will only use the license server of Switzerland.
Dubai won't have a license file.
Dubai and Switzerland will share the same SAP B1 users (and the same license file).

Best regards

There is no misunderstanding. You said clearly: Is it possible also to install SAP Server on the server of Dubai but using the same license server sited in Switzerland?

The answer is NO.

Dear Emanuele,

The answer is No. You may only install one server. Licensing is binding the hardware key.

You may create 2 databases on the same server. One for Dubai, the other for Switzerland.

Thanks,

Gordon
