Hello Gurus,
My question is can we perform DB migration through the system copy option in swpm.We are trying to migrate from DB2 to MS SQL.
As per my knowledge source system export will be taken from DB2 under system copy and the import process will be done under the MS SQL as my target system is on MS SQL Database. Please help me if am not correct.
Regards...
Sanjay
You will need to do a Heterogeneous system copy (Migration) as you are changing the database.
You need to use the SWPM tool and select the "Migration )load based)" option.
The migration should be done by a certified OS DB migration consultant.

Hi Sanjay,
Yes its quite possible from DB2 to MS sql. But its a Heterogeneous system copy where your Database is changing. And this will follow under Heterogeneous Database migration. i hope your not changing your OS. If yes then its a OS/DB migration and you need to Refer to the Latest PAM sheet for the OS/DB support for the SAP product you want to migrate.
Regards,
Ram
