Can someone give an example of a financial instrument and of a financial transaction? What is the difference between both data objects?

I found myself the answer:
A financial instrument is a financial product that you can buy fa stock exchange. A standardized contract that you can buy in big numbers.
A financial transaction is an OTC (over the counter) financial product between 2 or more business partners such as derivatives, foreign currency deals, guarantees, facilities. You cannot buy a financial transaction at a stock exchange.
Both Bank Analyzer financial instrument and financial transaction are financial instruments under IAS 39.

In BA (Bank Analyzer) system you can find template examples for FT and FI:
1. Execute transaction 'SPRO'
2. Bank Analyzer --> Source Data Layer --> Primary Objects --> Master Data --> Templates --> Edit Template
3. You will see a list of templates for different categories.
Those templates which start with 'S40...' are FTs examples
Those templates which start with 'S41...' are FIs examples
Application help information can be found here:
