Hi BPC Community,
We are in the process of putting together a user guide and I am in need of some technical definitions.
What is the lowest dimension ID member called in BPC? I've been calling it a base-member or leaf. Also, can data (actuals) only be stored in only base-members because the data is aggregated through the rollups? Finally, can data be sent and stored to non-base members?
Thank you. Barry
Hi Barry,
Data can only be stored on base member level, all higher levels in any hierarchy are calculated by the system. If you were to manage to store data on a non base member the next database optimisation would give you an error message.
It is possible to send data to non base members via scripts, but as said above, any such data would cause issues on the next optimisation.
BR,
Arnold

Hi Barry,
By the design you can not store data on parent level member / node / non base level member .
