Org Hub for Mobile

Hi all,

i have enabled the flag "mobile" in Admin console of the OrgChart application VSN 4.1 SP1

I also installed the OrgHub for mobile in the I-Pad (iOS 5.1.1)

In the OrgHub settings i inserted the following details:

Nakisa server = http://xxxxx:50000/OrgChart/default.jsp

When i click on the OrgHub application, after inserting username and password, it appears an "404-File not found" error

What is the problem?

Thanks and Regards,

Barbara

Hi Barbara.

Is your iPad on the same network as your server?

If not, have you arranged to have the 50000 port on the server accessible via your iPad's connection (e.g. expose the port to the Internet or an internal WiFi network) - firewall rules, routing, etc.?

Regards,

Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

the Nakisa is installed in Cloud, so it is reacheable from everywhere.

In particular I use Wifi connection, from my PC i have no problems, but with the IPad the page doesn't appear.

Barbara

Hi Barbara.

There's no user accessible logging on the iPad that I know of (not sure how verbose the developer accessible logging might be), but it would be worth giving the cds.log on the server a scan through to see if that has logged anything useful relating to the 404 request.

Presumably you can access the demo system from the iPad without getting a 404.  Is that correct?

Would you be able to post a screen shot of the error?

Stephen.

Hi Stephen

no useful rows in cds.log

yes, from the IPad i can access the demo system

About the error it appears the following rows:

404 Not Found

a blue bar with: "SapNetWeaver Application Server 7.20 / AS Java 7.30"

and in the body page:

https:sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/JSTSG/Home

Successfully accessing the demo system means it isn't an issue at the iPad end or the connection (but the successful laptop on WiFi previously confirmed that).  So it really must be something at the server end.

It wasn't quite so much the detail of the error, but more the position within the app I was interested in.  I'm not sure if it would help, but sometimes there are extra clues that having a screen shot gives.  To take a screen shot hold down the home and power buttons and it will save the screen shot to your photos/camera roll.  You can then (for example) mail it to yourself to upload to this thread.

At this point I'm not sure what else to suggest other than raising an OSS.  There's nothing appearing in any log, you're able to connect on the same URL with another device on the same network connection and in terms of compatibility, everything should be all set.  It's just a bit hard to identify the issue without more to go on.

Maybe someone else has had a similar issue and can suggest something else to try?

Stephen.

Hi Barbara.

Did you take this any further?  Did you capture any app screen shots, raise an OSS, do something else?

It would be useful to know if there has been a resolution in case anyone else gets a similar situation in the future.

Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

i discovered that for Mobile we should insert in Org Hub settings, for Nakisa Server URL:

http://XXXXXXXXX:50000/OrgChart/

so without "default.jsp"

Another interesting thingi discovered, is that to see the Mobile version in desktop we can use the following URL:

http://XXXXXXXXX:50000/OrgChart/mobile/tablet/default.jsp

Regards,

Barbara
