Hello World using SAPUI5 with XML: problem displaying a Message.

Hello,

     I am working on my first Hello World application to get familiar with the environment and I am having a difficult time with the XML file. I created a new UI5 application and selected XML in order to get the Layout Editor. I then dragged a button and now am having difficulty with the next steps in order to have a message be displayed when the button is clicked.

If there are any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
