How to block specific material numbers?

You can block/unblock specific bin locations using LS06 and LS07 respectively.

Is there a similar tcode that allows you to do the same thing based on material number?

LS07 is for quants, not for bins, and if you want block the stock of a material then you have to do this through LS07.

Or you use a material status (customizing transaction OMS4) and enter it to your material master at any plant view.

so you can issue an error message if this material is used in a TR or TO.

I don't see that the blocking is different for batch items, do you?

LS11 is the mass change for storage bins, this gives you a pretty open way to block bins for putaway and/or picking
