timeout.do was not found on server

We have installed XI 3.1 SP7 on our server ( only web tier component). During installation ( at DeployWebApps step)  we got an error that config file for app server was not found. Therefore we copied the config.tomcat7 from old server and made few changes and there after installation progress.

However, we are not sure if it deployed all the required.war files.

As when we tried to access the CMS URL using apache webserver host/port, its giving below error -

/PlatformServices/service/app/timeout.do was not found on the server.

Can anyone pls suggest how this can be corrected ? Are we missing anything from installation perspective.

Hi,

When you simply put http://<servername>:<portnumber>/ , are you able to reach the home page of Tomcat?

Default portnumber is 8080.

If yes, do you get the Infoview home page when you use below URL:

http://<servername>:<portnumber>/InfoViewApp.

If I am not wrong, PlatformServices webapplication is used to navigate in Infoview and is related to some key features like Infoview Preferences, Log Off, etc.

In this case, re-deploying the warfiles seems to be the only option as of now and prior to that you might have to re-configure Tomcat server as the config file is missing.

Copying and pasting any file is not always a good option.

When you do installation through installer (.msi files), it not only copies the required files to the destination folders but also put the required enteries in the system registry of the machine.

Therefore, I would suggest you to check with system/server admin for Tomcat reconfiguration and try the below link for redeploying the BO related warfiles.

Note 1488179:Manually redeploying XI 3.1 WAR files in Tomcat 5.5.x .

Hope it will be helpful.
