Setting Session Timeout for HANA Cloud Portal

Hi all,

is there any way for setting the session timeout period on HANA cloud Portal?

If not, what is the predefined session timeout?

Hi Silvia,

Session timeout is 20 minutes and cannot be changed. In fact it is configured at the platform level.

HCP provide documentation about handling session timeout.

Portal application's TO value is set to 30 minutes in the web.xml

I agree with your reply on Handling Timeout for HCP Portal JAVA Application , is this true for UI5 applications as well??

1. 1) Any UI5 application which authenticates using SCI , what is the default session timeout. Is this correct that the session timeout will be managed by SCI timeout. If yes , what is the Default SCI timeout?
2. 2) Can we change the default session timeout of the SCI..?

Dear Rajiv,

The timeout is managed by the portal's java app only.

Any UI5 app does not control the timeout logic regardless of the SCI.

An SCI is trusted against an account in HCP, not a specific application.

Any application which is hosted on this account or subscribed to it will be authenticated with the SCI, but has nothing to do with timeout.
